When it came to choosing bikes, kit & gadgets, there were two slightly different points of view...
My old mountain bike will do...just a few modifications... oh ok, I'll get a Santos
I definitely, definitely want front shocks - have you seen those roads!?
Shocks! Those ugly heavy things that might break and slow me down - no thanks.
Custom made bike with 26" wheels specifically designed for long distance touring - 1 Santos in Gun Metal Grey pls!
Kit - we need to take everything, down jacket, 4 season sleeping bag, thermals - even though we're spending the 1st 2mths in SA, in summer...
Power monkey, sony viao, mp3, e-reader, power chimp etc...
Kit - the bare minimum, lets only take what we need now and buy the rest on the way!
